I got the same thing as postsoviet. Text received 1:48 pm UTC on August 14, 2012. No reply received when STOP was sent.

It says "your number has made you Apple's Winner."

Considering that I pay $0.40 for an SMS message, I'm going to send an email to this morons ISP indicating that they are engaging in theft of communication services.

Their IP address is 220.164.140.246 and, unfortunately, they have a Chicom ISP so the best way to deal with them is to avoid buying anything made by Chicoms.

States "you have won $1,000 Target gift card in monthly drawing" and directs you to target.com.crdf.biz,and then to enter a code, which happens to be my area code, leading me to think that maybe I'm a winner from this area.

This appears to be a twist on an old internet con. You have to sort through pages and pages of 'offers' and at each step you must select so many opportunities. Alledgedly at the end you do receive a $1,000 Gift Card from X, in this case x = Target.

I've gotten sucked into this 2 times over the past decade. It's like gambling, I started thinking, well, I'm in this far so the end must be getting closer ... I'm not giving up, I deserve that gift card ... they said it, it must be true ...

I received the message, and rather skeptically did try to login, but disregarded the http and www prefixes and instead got 'Scambook' which turned out to be a great unexpected result.
