I just discovered that worldtxts is billing me $9.99 per month subscription charge. I did not order anything from them and I am receiving unsolicited text messages. I called my cell provided and they refunded all charges to date. What a scam!!! Everyone needs to file a complaint with the Attorney General in the state in which they live. Let's stop this unwanted charge and closed this company down!
Thanks
worldtxts is billing me subscription charge on my cell phone bill. I did not order anything and did not agree to anything. SCAM.
Thanks.
Worldtxts is scamming me left and right! They keep popping up on my phone bill after I've cancelled them and they don't send me anything anyhow, not that I want it. I did NOT sign up for this.
I hate getting this kind of messages. I am contacting AT&T right away to make sure these scammers don't get any money from me! I didn't solicit/subscribe to anything!
received 2 text messages from this company. they are charging me 9.99 a month and have been unable to get this cancelled.
I just received a text informing me of a code and the website. I went directly to the website and found their contact information. I called them and they informed me that somebody must have typed my number into a form and that my subscription was never started because I did not respond or enter the code online, which essentially confirms that you want their service.
He assured me that nothing has or will be billed and that they have now blocked my number.
If I see anything pop up I will be sure to report back, but I think as long as you don't reply or enter your number anywhere online that you should be okay. If you want to be sure, I would recommend calling them directly and not entering your number into any of their online forms. 1-888-650-8979 is the number I called... prompt 2
I just called the number Gemma provided, just to make sure they didn't charge me the fee people had been getting on their phone bills. But what exactly is Worldtxts?
The stop order worked but I was still billed a $9.99 fee for premium texting.
I recently began receiving text messages from this company once a day. I'm not sure where they got my phone number, but I will follow up and post my findings. Thanks for the information.
I called the number Gemma provided and it was an easy and fairly pleasant process. Pressed option 2 and was transferred to a nice gentleman that quickly blocked my phone number from receiving the texts and apologized for any inconvenience. I will now watch to make sure no other text messages come through that I didn't sign up for.
just called gemma's number - THANKS, GEMMA! was told the texts will stop & nothing had been activated. what a pain in the hols - SCAMALICIOUS!
Same story here, *daily* unsolicited texts for worldtxt.com for last 6 days advertising a $9.99 texting service, STOP option not offered in the text, just an ad for their website. Note: I have my cell set up on the Federal Do Not Call list for many years, they are clearly in violation unless they are sending txts to random numbers, or sequentially, which is a workaround to the Federal provision of not contacting specific numbers on the list. If I find they have billed me despite never replying or agreeing they will be looking at a letter from my attorney by tomorrow PM>
I have been receiving 1 text message every single day. I would like to know how to block this number, all it says is this: "Reply >>Y<< for access exclusively alerts! from worldtxts.com Unlimited access."
I just called em up, they blocked the texts, thanks GEMMA. took 1 minute.
worldtxt.com is a scam! This is the third time I've had to call to stop the daily " REPLY Y " text messages I receive from them. I'm going to contact the better business bureau about them and would encourage anyone else to do the same if receiving these messages.
If you need help canceling the service and get a refund you can call 888.-650-,8979 I am sure they dont read this posting
Started to get messages from worldtxts.com a few days ago. I called my carrier who offered to block any premium text messaging such as this one.
I also called the company at 1.888.650.8979 and although the woman lied by saying that my number was entered on their site, she was happy to remove my number or block it... I will see in the next few days if that helped
They should have a DoNotText service just like the donotcall.gov... or maybe DoNotBotherMe for all of them....
I recall go to dictionary online and I had to put in my cell phone number. I only wanted dictionary online. I didn't want to receive it in a text message on my phone. Especially for no $9.99 a Month. I can't afford an extra charge right now. How do I remove it before it get charged to my account?
Received two texts from this number within 6 minutes of each other. Message stated text Y to subscribe, stop to cancel. I did not text them but instead called number provided by Gemma, spoke to Kara. Was informed no charges had been made and texts would be blocked to my number. We will see when the next phone bill comes!
