I can't enter "stop" or anything that will end these messages. I get up to a dozen a day and I'm tired of it. How do you stop it?
I tried replying. It didn't work. They come to my daughter who is on a pay as you go phone. She gets charged for every one that comes thru. How do I stop them?
I first wrote "stop sending unsolicited texts to this number," and I received a message saying that some location was not found. Then I found this website and simply texted "stop" and then I received a message that back saying that they wouldn't send me any more texts. So make sure you text exactly (and only) "stop" and I think it should work. Good luck
just a reply with Stop worked for me!!! yay
I have tried sending STOP to this number many times and it is not working. It keeps telling me I can't send a text to that number.
Make sure that you spell 'stop' just like that, no upper case letters just lower case and only that. No spaces or punctuation. And it works immediately!
The text messages from 78676 are blank. When I text "stop" I get a message "SIM Card Not Ready". Is that referring to my phone? I don't have trouble sending to other numbers. How can I stop this?
I had my number changed and that's when the texts started coming. I had to turn the vibrate off every night because they would wake me up a lot. Replying "Stop" worked for me. I don't see how it doesn't work for others.
I replied "stop" and they sent me back a confirmation text saying that i would no longer receive alerts from them!
I changed my number with Verizon and I, too, was getting these 'weather messages' starting at 5 a.m..... ugh... very aggravating. I just typed Stop and I immediately got a message back saying I'd no longer receive alerts. Hope it works!
Just did stop lower case, received message back alerts will no longer be sent. Hooray, also.
I dont want these damn weather notices.
I wont pay for them, I have TMobil take them off my bill each month.
I did not sign up for this service.
"stop" worked! Thanks for your help!

The Weather Channel. Good site but does tend to spam your phone for weather alerts continuously.
You might wish you'd kept the alerts when a freaking tornado is peeling your roof off at 3AM. You can edit your settings so that you only receive alerts for severe weather.
Who is this it is one of the last messages on my sons cell phone before he died.
