call my carrier to take care of this, after they charged me $9.99..I can't understand how they can just charge you and nothing can be done about it..

Had this number sent to phone awhile back three times, did not reply to it, new it was a scam, thought if I did would just confirm to them it was a good number as would be bombarded with texts. Got bill today and there was the charge. Called my cell provider got it taken care of and now have a block on phone for all short code #'s. Found that they are being sued as being a scammer. I want to sue them also. I was charged for this and I did not get my daily inspirational text like the service said. I only got the three texts to get me signed up, which I never did sign up for it, but hey since they billed me for it I did not get the service they promised. That could be a whole other law suit.
Received a text from 97956 saying "U requested daily inspirational texts. Sub service is $9.99/mo + Msg&Data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel. Reply HELP for HELP. Enter on web: 6082"
Needless to say I texted STOP, and their immediate reply was "Enjoy the day. Think of the good things, forget the bad ones." and then an additional text saying "Enjoy your daily Inspiration texts, alerts billed at $9.99 per month! To quit, send STOP to 97956. For help text HELP. support@inspiracell.com." they continued to charge me $9.99 for two months. I was refunded by AT&T, but nonetheless, this was clearly a text attack. One of the service representatives said she would track where the payments go to find the culprits. Hopefully that will end this.
Good luck trying to get your money back. Their phone always goes to voicemail when I call. If you do a whois lookup on inspiracell.com you will find that their domain is based in Panama. Probably our best chance at any satisfaction is to get their domain name cancelled by filing a complaints with their registrar, godaddy.com.
I got a text from this company asking if I would like to subscribe to their inspirational texts. I ignored it and deleted the text. Next bill I got, it had a $9.99 fee for the subscription. The phone companies need to be more responsible when adding subscription fees to a customer's bill. This is obviously a large scale fraud that is happening with more than one phone company and more than one bogus text alert company.
Several months ago, I got a text as described in these reports. I ignored the first one. Got a second one, and called my carrier. They said to reply with STOP, and I should not get any more texts. I got 2 more later that day. Called carrier back, and they blocked that number. Several months later, it magically showed up on my carrier bill. I caught it on the second month. Carrier refunded the charges, and have sent me a pin # for future use against these things. In my case, it was several months later that the $9.99 charges started. Keep your eyes on your bill...
